Tulsa-based real estate agent Carmen Hurtado brings true faith and purpose to her work—an unwavering belief that real estate is more than just property; it's a path to opportunity, stability, and generational growth. A proud member of McGraw Realtors, Carmen’s success stems not only from her deep industry knowledge but also from a genuine desire to serve others.

A Journey Built on Foundation and Faith

Carmen’s journey in real estate began long before she ever held a license. In 2006, she entered the field in Kansas as a real estate assistant and later worked as a transaction coordinator. “That gave me a lot of great background in title issues and lending processing,” she recalls. It was behind-the-scenes work, but it laid the technical foundation for the full-service agent she would eventually become.

After relocating to Oklahoma in 2016, Carmen and her family bought a home—an experience that reignited her professional passion. “It was a hard time to get into the business,” she says of earning her real estate license in December 2017. “I didn’t know anyone, so I started with networking and hosting open houses.”

By the end of 2018, things started to shift. As 2019 rolled in, Carmen found herself building a loyal base of clients—many of whom came through referrals, a trend that continues to define her business today.

More Than a Move—An Investment in Life

Carmen doesn’t see buying or selling homes as purely transactional. Her perspective is broader. “I do this because I believe that real estate is an investment,” she says. “It’s more than just knowing where you want to live for the rest of your life. I like helping people understand what real estate can do for them and their families.”

Whether working with first-time buyers, growing families, or investors, Carmen’s goal is always the same: to guide her clients with education, care, and clarity.

Driven by the Desire to Help

When asked what drives her, Carmen’s answer is immediate and heartfelt. “Helping others,” she says. “That’s my biggest motivation.”

That mindset has translated into real success. In 2024, she closed around $7 million in volume, a milestone made all the more meaningful because nearly all of her clients came through word-of-mouth. “I feel very good about the fact that almost all of my clients have been referred to me by others,” she says with pride.

Family First

Behind Carmen’s work ethic is a loving and supportive family. Her husband, Juan Eduardo, and their three children—Ashlyne, Eduardo, and Mateo—keep her grounded and inspired.

As a family, they love to travel and unwind. “Vacations are something we love,” she says. “Cancun is one of our favorites. We like to do cruises and spend time at the lake.” These moments of rest and connection fuel her energy for her work.

Advice for New Agents: Lead With Service

For those entering the industry, Carmen offers thoughtful advice: “Real estate is mostly about helping others,” she says. “If you really want to be successful, be sure to listen to your clients and help them get to their path. It’s a way to help others. If you do that, success will come to you.”

It’s a philosophy that has carried her through every stage of her career—and one that she believes applies far beyond real estate.

Faith and Trust in the Journey

Above all else, Carmen believes in the power of faith and divine timing. “God is good,” she says. “We have to trust our path and trust Him. I always talk with clients about having faith that you will find what you are looking for. Dreams come true and everything can be possible.”

That belief in possibility is woven into every conversation she has with her clients. Whether they’re worried about market conditions or feeling uncertain about making a move, Carmen brings a calming perspective rooted in patience, compassion, and trust.

A Lasting Impression

As much as she focuses on results, Carmen knows that the lasting impact of her work lies in how she makes people feel. Her values are simple but powerful: kindness, patience, and thinking of others. These traits, she says, are essential—not just for successful transactions, but for meaningful relationships.

Carmen Hurtado is a real estate agent, a mother, a woman of faith, and a believer in dreams. Her business continues to grow because people feel seen, heard, and cared for in her presence
