Chelsea Meek

“You should really try real estate,” Chelsea Meek’s mom Kacy Bell urged. “I have no interest in that,” Chelsea insisted.
But mothers have a way of knowing best. “Try it for one year and see what happens,” her mom encouraged. That was eight years ago—and Chelsea never looked back.
Once a fifth-grade teacher with a passion for education, Chelsea is now a thriving real estate professional with Keller Williams Advantage, having closed over 210 units and $42.5 million in volume since starting in April 2017. What began as a reluctant leap into a new industry turned into a life-changing opportunity. “Real estate truly changed the trajectory of my family’s life,” she says with a smile.
Rooted in Real Estate
Chelsea grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and attended Union High School before earning her Bachelor of Science in Education from Oklahoma State University. Her mother, a long-time real estate professional and now the Operating Principal of Keller Williams Preferred in town, had been in the business for as long as Chelsea could remember. Still, Chelsea’s heart was originally in teaching.
“I never thought I’d leave education,” she says. “But after having kids, everything shifted. I wanted to go on field trips, be present, and have the flexibility to say yes to my family.” Real estate gave her that gift—and more.
Chelsea’s background in education continues to serve her well. “I want my clients to feel educated and comfortable every step of the way,” she says. “I get told all the time, ‘You’re the most patient REALTOR® I’ve ever met.’” She also reassures her clients and is eager to answer any questions that might pop up along the way. She tells them, “There’s no such thing as a ridiculous question.”
Her passion for helping others extends to educating aspiring investors. “We did so much in a short time—I want others to know what’s possible.”
Building a Real Estate Investment Legacy
Real estate didn’t just reshape Chelsea’s professional life—it became a family affair. Together, Chelsea and Justin have built a real estate investment portfolio of 21 rental properties, including a mix of Airbnbs and long-term rentals. Justin, who formerly worked at QuikTrip, now manages the properties full-time.
“At first, the goal was just 10 rentals,” Chelsea recalls. “Then 15. Now 21. We’re at a point where we feel balanced, and it’s given us the flexibility and lifestyle we always wanted.”
Flexibility, Freedom, Family, and Faith
Chelsea and her husband, Justin, whom she married in 2007, are parents to Makenna (15) and Lucas (13). Both attend Broken Arrow schools. Makenna is passionate about show choir and recently competed in five out-of-state events, including a trip to Los Angeles. Lucas enjoys basketball, soccer, and whatever activity he can jump into.
The Meek family now lives on 2.5 acres, where Chelsea finds solace and inspiration. “My favorite thing to do is sit on the back porch, watch the birds and squirrels, and just reset,” she says. “We see every wild bird you can imagine out here. It’s peaceful—and something I never would have pictured myself loving so much.”
Chelsea is deeply grounded in her faith. A verse from high school still anchors her today:
“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” — Matthew 6:34
“It reminds me to focus on today and what I can control,” she says.
She’s also working on a personal dream: writing a book. “Reading is my escape,” she shares. “Writing is something I’d love to bring to life in the next six months to a year.”
Words of Wisdom
For new agents and aspiring top producers, Chelsea offers this advice: “Focus on the relationships themselves, not the transactions. Be present. Care about the individual. That’s what builds long-term success.”
Chelsea Meek may have left the classroom, but she’s still teaching—only now it’s about real estate, investing, and the possibilities that come with betting on yourself. She couldn’t be happier that she listened to her mother’s advice.
