When Bryan Smith founded Smith Insurance & Financial Services in Tulsa, he wasn’t just chasing a career—he was launching a mission. Now one of the largest insurance agencies in America, Smith’s company is built on strategy, risk, service, and a core foundation of unwavering faith. He’s not just growing a business—he’s shaping lives.
“I’ve always been drawn to solving problems and staying active,” Bryan says. “This business gives me that every single day. It’s about finding solutions for people, not just selling stuff. And when you start thinking of business that way, everything changes.”
The Accidental Path to Insurance
Bryan didn’t plan on going into insurance. In fact, he was selling his share in a mortgage company when a conversation with someone in the insurance industry—along with a few family ties to the field—sparked his interest.
“I realized there were a lot of similarities in building the business—especially when it came to prospecting and structure,” he explains. “We’ve always focused on internet prospecting and built our agency around that. I wanted to prove it could be done, and now we teach that follow-up system across the country.”
Today, Smith Insurance & Financial Services includes a team built around dedicated sales, service, and executive divisions. The agency offers all lines of insurance, including life and retirement planning.
More Than Business: A Bold Mission
While Bryan is a fierce entrepreneur, his drive is grounded in his faith. He spent a number of years living in what he calls a pretty fake way. He was not authentic and definitely didn’t use his influence effectively. While still capable of making mistakes and missing the mark at times it’s all about putting Jesus at the center now and trying daily to be a positive impact on other people’s lives.
“Our theme from day one was that we wanted to be a part of the community—not just in the community,” Bryan explains. “We serve through a couple of our programs like Fit First Responders and 1440Promise.org as well #callbryansmith Player of the Game™️ supports local schools, donate to sports teams, and speak at dinners and graduations. Sometimes people ask us to pray with them and are always ready for us to do our thing as #hopedealers. It’s become a ministry as much as it is a business.”
This service-minded mission shows up in his media work, too. Bryan hosts the Get Cancelled podcast—a bold, faith-based show ranked in the Top 100. Tackling tough topics that others avoid, the podcast blends life, relationships, and raw honesty.
“Some people play it safe,” he says. “I’m not one of them. I believe the straight road doesn’t always get you where you need to go. Faith and boldness? That’s how you change lives.”
A Speaker, Author, and National Mentor
Bryan’s willingness to speak truth and take risks has earned him recognition far beyond Oklahoma. He’s an award-winning speaker and best-selling author, frequently invited to mentor and speak to entrepreneurs, students, and industry leaders.
He doesn’t just talk about success—he lives it, and he brings others along with him.
“My favorite quote is, ‘You are here today because of a decision you made yesterday.’ I live by that,” he shares. “Whether you’re making financial decisions, building a business, or trying to turn your life around—every choice matters. I want people to understand that.”
Family First: Leading at Home
Despite the accolades and national presence, Bryan’s heart is firmly at home. As a devoted dad to four kids—Legend (16), Sophia (11), Maverick (10), and Legacy (4)—he considers fatherhood his greatest role.
“Family isn’t just a title. It’s a calling,” Bryan says. “The real measure of success isn’t just what you build—it’s who you build it with.”
In his free time, Bryan enjoys hitting the gym, playing pickleball, or heading to the movies with his kids. Those moments, he says, are just as meaningful as business milestones.
Breaking Records, Breaking Barriers
Bryan’s business arm, Break Records, captures the essence of his philosophy: pushing limits and refusing to settle. It’s not just a catchy name—it’s a mindset he instills in every person he mentors.
“The name is about more than success,” he explains. “It’s about freedom. Breaking free from fear, from failure, from whatever’s holding you back.”
And it’s that same conviction—fueled by faith, family, and fierce purpose—that continues to elevate Smith Insurance & Financial Services into new territory.
