For Evin Young, mortgage lending was never just about numbers—it was about people. Long before stepping into the financial world, she was studying psychology at Northeastern State University, driven by a desire to understand and help others.
“I was literally getting a psychology degree because I wanted to help people,” she said. “And I kind of fell in love with my job because that’s exactly what you do every day.”
That instinct to help eventually led her into banking, where she began as a part-time teller at Arvest Bank while still in college. What started as a practical job quickly evolved into a long-term career path. After graduating, she accepted a lending position that paid more than her teller role—and never looked back.
Today, with roughly 15 years in the industry and 4½ years at First United Bank Mortgage Group, Young has built a reputation rooted in problem-solving, communication, and persistence. In turn, she takes pride in the company tagline, Spend Life Wisely.
From Teller Line to Senior Loan Originator
Young’s entry into lending was straightforward, but her growth within the industry has been shaped by curiosity and a willingness to take on complex challenges. Now serving as a senior mortgage originator, she works across a wide range of loan products and client needs.
Her path wasn’t accidental—it was built through experience at multiple banking environments, each adding layers to her expertise before she settled into her current role at First United.
“I’ve been doing this about 15 years now,” she said. “Every step along the way taught me something different.”
Her success has been impressive by any measure. In fact, she has been ranked among the top 1% of mortgage lenders nationwide and has been in the Scottmen’s Guide for Production for 2024 and 2025.
Solving the Loans Others Can’t
What sets Young apart in the mortgage industry is not just experience, but the type of work she gravitates toward. She has built a niche around complex loan structures—transactions that require deeper analysis, creativity, and persistence.
“I like figuring out a challenge,” she explained. “There are a lot of difficult loan structures out there that not everyone is willing to take the time to work through.”
Those situations, while demanding, are also the most rewarding.
“Once you help somebody who couldn’t get help anywhere else, that’s what makes it worth it,” she said. “That feeling of accomplishment—that’s what keeps me going.”
Evin and her team lend in all states, and offer a full range of financing options, including VA loans, Rural Development and all down payment assistance products.
“We are a complete bank, and not a mortgage bank,” she explains.
Communication and Trust at the Center
In a field where uncertainty can create stress for clients and partners alike, Young emphasizes transparency above all else. Whether the news is good or bad, she believes communication should never stop.
“We are very good at communicating,” she said. “Even in difficult situations, you’re going to hear from us. We don’t go silent.”
That commitment to openness helps build long-term trust with agents, builders, and clients—an essential part of the mortgage process where timing and clarity often determine success.
“We want people to trust and respect us at the end of the process,” she added.
A Team Built on Experience and Momentum
While Young is the senior loan officer leading origination efforts, she is supported by a small but highly experienced team. That includes loan assistant April Watson, a seasoned mortgage professional with more than 20 years in the field, and Loan Processing Assistant April Watson.
Together, they operate with a shared goal: delivering a consistent five-star client experience.
“We want to be the best and produce the most,” Young said. “If we ever get anything less than a five-star review, it drives me crazy. That’s what we’re always working toward.”
Products Designed for Every Situation
Working at First United Bank Mortgage Group gives Young access to a broad range of lending products designed to meet diverse client needs. Among them are construction loan options that can finance up to 95 percent of a project, along with other flexible solutions for both standard and complex transactions.
For Young, the strength of the platform lies in its versatility.
“There really isn’t a product we don’t offer,” she said. “That flexibility helps us serve more people and more situations.”
Beyond the Office: Family and Community Life
Outside of mortgage lending, Young’s life is centered on family and community. Recently engaged to her fiancé, Roy Bingham, who owns Atlas Land Office surveying company in Wagner, she also balances life as a mother to her 14-year-old son, Layndon Young.
Family time is active and social, often revolving around shared meals and time spent in local communities.
“We’re foodies,” she said with a laugh. “We probably eat out every day. We love being around people.”
That people-first mindset extends beyond family life into how she spends her free time—often in downtown Tulsa or Broken Arrow, staying connected to the energy of the community around her. She also does dog rescue work with Amanda Dudley.
A Commitment to Helping Others—Even Beyond Lending
Young’s desire to help others doesn’t stop at mortgages. She is also involved in dog rescue efforts, adding another layer to her service-driven lifestyle. Whether working with clients or animals in need, her focus remains consistent: improving lives where she can.
“It’s all about helping people reach their goals,” she said. “That’s what I want to be known for.”
A Track Record of Growth and Recognition
In recent years, Young’s performance has reflected both consistency and momentum. She has consistently produced loan volumes exceeding $20 million annually, including a $27 million year achieved without a formal team structure at the time.
She has also earned recognition within the industry, including inclusion in Scotsman’s Guide rankings in both 2024 and 2025, with continued recognition anticipated moving forward.
Additionally, she is active in the Home Builders Association (HBA), further strengthening her connections within the housing and construction industries.
Building More Than Loans
For Evin Young, mortgage lending is not simply a profession—it is a way to help people step into their next chapter. Whether navigating a difficult loan structure, guiding a first-time buyer, or helping a family refinance into stability, her approach remains consistent: listen, solve, and deliver.
At the center of it all is a simple belief.
“At the end of the day,” she said, “I just want people to know I care and that I want the best for them.”
