Christina Shortsleeve

As a real estate agent with RE/MAX Results, Christina Shortsleeve brings more than market knowledge to her work. She brings compassion, presence, and a deep appreciation for the life she has built.

Licensed six years ago, Christina’s path into real estate began not with ambition, but curiosity.

Together with her husband, Mike, she built a true partnership rooted in trust, shared vision, and informed decision-making—buying, selling, and custom building three homes over fifteen years. Through each experience, she worked closely with builders and a trusted real estate professional they deeply respected, gaining firsthand insight and practical education that ultimately shaped her path into real estate.

“I adored her,” Christina recalls. “One day I asked if she needed an assistant.”

The answer came with a condition: she’d need her real estate license first. That single conversation set everything in motion.

Learning the Business from the Inside Out

Christina earned her license and began working part-time as an assistant, all while holding a full-time job and raising her family. The experience proved invaluable. She learned the business behind the scenes, observed how strong relationships were built, and gained confidence before ever stepping out on her own.

Then COVID arrived, disrupting routines and reshaping priorities for countless families—including Christina’s. Though she had the option to stay in her full-time position, internal company changes gave her pause. After prayer and reflection, she made a decision that surprised even herself.

“I came home and told my husband I wanted to quit my job. I felt peace knowing it was the right decision and this was what I felt I was supposed to do.“

Real estate became her full-time focus—and, by her measure, it has been more than enough.

“My goal has always been to be sure our bills are paid and our family is provided for,” Christina says. “Anything beyond that, I’m just thankful for.

A Relationship-Driven Approach

At heart, Christina is a relationship person. Though she describes herself as an introvert, she thrives in one-on-one settings—coffee meetings, lunches with clients, and conversations that extend well beyond a single transaction.

“I’ve always liked talking to people,” she says. “Building long-term relationships is my favorite part of what I do.”

That relational focus proved especially meaningful during a challenging season. After the passing of her mother last year, Christina stepped back from her usual pace. Yet her business endured—largely through referrals from past clients who trusted her.

“Those relationships sustained me,” she reflects. “That’s how my business survived.”

Rooted in Gratitude and Purpose

Christina’s motivation runs deeper than sales goals or production rankings. Her “why” is rooted in family—and in perspective shaped by her upbringing.

“I grew up in poverty spending some of my childhood in foster care before my grandmother became my guardian. Those early experiences shaped my resolve to build a different life.”

Today, that contrast fuels her gratitude. She and Mike are now empty nesters, with daughter Kallie away at college and Noah building his own career. The quiet of this new chapter has brought reflection—and appreciation.

“I’ve had more moments lately where I just stop and say thank you,” Christina says. “I never imagined this would be my path.”

She also holds tightly to a long-term goal inspired by a familiar philosophy: live simply now, so she can give generously later.

“That idea—‘live like no one else so you can give like no one else’—it means a lot to me,” she says.

Advice for the Next Generation

When asked what advice she would offer to those new to real estate, Christina doesn’t hesitate.

“Find a mentor,” she says. “That’s why I was able to do as well as I did. Working as an assistant taught me things I never would’ve learned trying to figure it out alone.”

It’s a belief shaped by experience—and one she hopes others will take to heart.

How She Hopes to Be Remembered

When asked how she hopes people describe her, Christina reaches for a card she recently received from a client. The words struck her deeply.

“It’s a rare and wonderful thing to see when someone loves their job, cares so much, and does it well.”

That, she says, is everything.

“I want people to say I cared. That I was compassionate,” she explains. “Those words fill my heart.”

In the end, Christina Shortsleeve’s story isn’t just about real estate. It’s about listening to intuition, honoring relationships, and building a life marked by gratitude and care—one client, one conversation, and one home at a time.
